POPULATION DYNAMICS AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH
Focuses on maximizing the power of data for population and health research in Africa through the creation of platforms for Africa-led data sharing, data custody, and application of state-of-the-art big data analytics and artificial intelligence to foster advances in health and wellbeing in Africa.
OVERVIEW
Our work in this area consolidates and expands on work in urbanization, fertility, and aging and development. We seek to address issues on migration and urbanization trends in Africa and their implications for developing sustainable and resilient cities.
Aging and Development – Access to long-term care, understanding the existing models and approaches to developing systems for Africa as part of the broader care economy and wellbeing of older people.
Urbanization and Sustainability – Clarifying the role of slums as a feature of Africa’s rapid urbanization, and developing systems for health and well-being that respond to the particularities of slum life that go beyond urban poverty.
